Since recently, the label “Produit du terroir – Lëtzebuerger Rëndfleesch” supports Vatel Luxembourg. The agreement was concluded in the presence of the President of the Chamber of Agriculture, Mr. Guy Feyder and Ben Weber, President of the Vatel Club.
The main objective of the “Produit du terroir – Lëtzebuerger Rëndfleesch” label, which was introduced in 1994, is to meet the legitimate demands of consumers for information about the origin of beef. The “Produit du terroir” beef is produced under the specifications of the Chamber of Agriculture. The animals are born and raised on family farms in Luxembourg and are slaughtered in approved slaughterhouses in the Grand Duchy in order to ensure the regional character of the product. The animals are transported in a very short time and under conditions that respect the animal’s well-being as much as possible. In order to guarantee maximum tenderness and flavour of the meat, Luxembourg butchers practice a natural maturation process adapted to each piece of meat. We believe that compliance with the high standards justifies the consumer’s confidence in Luxembourg beef. The close cooperation over many years between the Chamber of Agriculture, butchers, slaughterhouses and the agricultural authorities has made a decisive contribution to the success of the program “Produit du terroir – Lëtzebuerger Rëndfleesch”.
